Water, Soil & Forage Analysis
For horses requiring pasture on a long term or on an interment basis, the composition of the forage can have a significant effect on their development and well-being. The nutritional quality of pasture depends on the range of plants constituents growing on it, but also the factors that have a direct affect on the bio-chemical composition of each individual plant species i.e. climatic conditions – sun, temperature and rainfall plus the composition and quality of the soil in relation to the organic nutrients available, minerals types and their forms and pH. The latter are related to the underlying geology and the processes that have produced those soils types.
Ardmore Equine Nutrition are able to undertake the analysis of the water, soil and forage samples from specific fields/paddocks for our clients, explain the significance of the results (both short and long-term) in relation to the effects on the horses grazing on them, advise on which of our product(s) to use and provide recommended daily feeding rates. Equally we can also advise on remedial action concerning the pasture(s) analysed.
